How do Agile Development practices really work? - Vijay Aravamudhan

What does it mean to work in an environment where customer focus is key and delivery is the cynosure of all energies? How does a developer work in an environment where Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development and Domain Specific Languages are sacrosanct? You will learn what it means to be a hands on developer on an Agile team and gain deep insights of Xtreme Programming practices, which have been religiously followed in ThoughtWorks teams across the globe. The session will also help you understand the practice styles adopted by Agile teams working with different constraints.

Do Agile methods and formal approaches to software development work well with each other? - Rajesh Babu

Formal Methods focuses more on correctness, while Agile methods focus more on speed of responding to change. In this talk Rajesh Babu will focus on compatibility of various formal methods with Agile approaches and whether it is worth mixing them.

Vijay Aravamudhan (Software Architect at ThoughtWorks), specialises in the creation of large-scale distributed applications & has worked on both web-based apps and thick client apps, content data management applications, POS, call-center applications & lease automation. He is involved with open source projects including functional test automation tools (jfcunit, marathon, abbot, selenium), unit testing tools (junit), build tools (ant, nant), IDEs (Eclipse), rails plugins and gems.

Rajesh Babu has more than a decade of work experience in areas like e-commerce/m-commerce, Portals/CMS, Leasing , Insurance, Retail and Accounting. He has worked with various languages. He is also keen on functional programming and formal methods.
